All HSUHK full-time academic staff are eligible to possess a profile in HSUHK Scholars. During the implementation stage, scholar profiles have been prepared for all full-time academic staff listed in the HSUHK Research Database and other staff members with significant research achievements.
2. I am eligible, but my profile seems to be missing from HSUHK Scholars. Who should I contact?

6. What will happen to my profile and associated items if I leave HSUHK?
When you have left the university, your researcher profile will be hidden from the public view, and data will be kept in the system for analysis purposes.
1. Where does the data in HSUHK Scholars come from?
There are 3 major sources of data:
a. Scopus: Data of research outputs is imported from Scopus automatically around every 2 weeks. Thus, if the research output information is available on Scopus, it will be imported to HSUHK Scholars.
b. Manual Input: Researchers can input data to HSUHK Scholars themselves. Researchers have the rights to add and update research output information (i.e., published books, published articles, conference papers, etc.) and non-research output data (i.e., press/media articles, granted research funds, participated events, attained prizes, etc.). Check out other pages on this LibGuide for details and instructions.
c. Research Database: Data are collected from the existing Research Database during the implementation of HSUHK Scholars. Since the data fields on Research Database are different from HSUHK Scholars, direct mapping is not applicable. If any data is found not being inputted correctly, researchers can update the data by themselves.
2. When I entered my profile, I only saw a few of my works. Why is this the case?
Only a few of your works are shown in your profile may be due to the fact that other works of yours have not been indexed in Scopus. Thus, they are not imported during the routine importing process. In such a case, researchers can manually input the information themselves. Click to learn how to add a research output manually.
3. Should I include all my works or just recent ones? For example, works before my appointment at HSUHK?
Researchers are encouraged to include all your research work, even for those before your appointment at HSUHK. It helps to showcase your full research profile to the public.
4. Should I upload the full text of my research output(s) onto HSUHK Scholars?
Researchers are allowed to upload the full text of their research output(s) onto HSUHK Scholars. However, please be cautious of the copyright terms and agreements you signed with the publishers. Verify with your publishers before uploading if you are in doubt.
5. Can I submit an unpublished work?
If you wish to, researchers may submit an unpublished work’s information onto HSUHK Scholars. Please don’t forget to update the publication status from the default “Published” option to “In preparation” or another option that best defines the status. Visit this page regarding publication status under research output.
6. Can I remove a research output that does not belong to me?
If you have found any research output in your profile that is not written by you, you are encouraged to notify the Library through the Disclaim this content option. This option is available in the backend platform, next to the title name of every one of your research outputs. Visit this page for more details on how to claim or disclaim a research output.
7. There are duplicate records on my profile. What should I do?
If you encountered duplicate records on your profile, please contact the Library (email: library@hsu.edu.hk) as soon as possible for assistance.
