Update by Type of Data

Add Name Variant

The name variant column can be used to reflect different variations of your original name. This includes but is not limited to your former name and translated name. Choose the type of variant to create a new record:

Type Scenario where to use *Source: Pure Help Center
Default publishing name Use this if you usually publish under a different name than your original name.  When new Research outputs are created this name variation will be used and the original name will be listed in parentheses ( ).
Former name Use if your name has changed, e.g. due to marriage, but you still want to be found (searchable) by your former name.
Known as name Use this if you are recognized in Pure by a different name (variation) than your original name. Both names are searchable. The Known as name will then be used in renderings in Pure and on the portal etc. instead of the original name. Except if Default publishing name is used on Research outputs.
Other examples could be Jim vs. James, Bill vs. William etc.
Translated name

Useful when you want to provide a transcribed name e.g. from English to Chinese:

Sort name Useful if you want name to be sorted differently than default, e.g. when you have prepositions in your name as 'van der'  or 'de la' and want to take that into consideration.

Add Education/Academic Qualification

You can add your education and academic qualifications to your profile to provide a clear record of your formal training(s) and credential(s). For example, the degree(s) you earned, institutions attended, graduation dates, and field of study.

*If you are unable to search for the corresponding institution via the platform, you can add a record by selecting Create organisation (external)

Add Curriculum Vitae (CV)

You can create a CV, generated based on the research outputs & activities on your HSUHK Scholars profile, and have it included in your profile for further advancement. Options are available for either generating a public or private CV, in which the latter one will only be visible to you instead of showing on your profile page. The generated CV will be customised according to the availability of contents on your profile (e.g., information of your research outputs).
