Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
Climate change, long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns are imposing risks on the environment and human lives. With the rising global average temperature and sea level, people in small island nations are forced to relocate. Extreme weather and catastrophic disasters, increasing in frequency and intensity, have also driven millions of people into hunger, poverty and even death. These shifts impact humanity, especially women, children, the elderly, the poor, and the disabled.
To tackle the alarming climate change, the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 13 (SDG13) aims to integrate relevant measures into national policies and planning, increase global awareness, and raise capacity for disasters in all countries.
