Goal 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy
Our society would come to a halt without energy. However, more sustainable ways exist for it to continue relying heavily on highly polluting energy sources. The Union Nations, therefore, sets Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) as “ensuring access to clean and affordable energy for all” by 2030. It aims to considerably increase the share of renewable energy in the energy mix and decrease our reliance on fossil fuels.
UN member states have committed to promoting investment in clean energy sources and international cooperation on relevant research and technology by 2030.
