Cities provide opportunities for all, with access to basic services, energy, housing, transportation and more.
The evidence shows that rapid urbanization is putting pressure on freshwater supplies, sewage, and public health. Humans also face a lot of challenges, such as congestion, lack of funds to provide basic services, a shortage of adequate housing, declining infrastructure and rising air pollution within cities. We need to ensure that those plans are well implemented so that our cities grow more sustainably and inclusively.
