Tips: Citation View helps identify missing fields easily
1. Select citation style
2. Click on the highlighted (missing) fields and edit
Editing references is important for adding the missing information and making corrections, especially for references imported from different sources.
To edit:
1. Click on the reference for editing and its details will pop up on the right of the page
2. Click the pencil symbol to edit
3. When finished, click Save and exit
There different ways to assign your references to folders, here are 2 of the suggested ways:
Note: A reference can be assigned to several folders. If you edit a reference, the changes will be made in all the assigned folders.
There may be some duplicated references in your RefWorks library, especially when RefWorks is being used for a period. You may wish to remove the duplicated references for an organised reference library in RefWorks.
1. Click Tools > Find duplicates
2. Select the preferred options
3. You will be informed when the process is completed
4. Work on the duplicated references:
a) Click See last results
b) Review the references (duplicated references will be selected by default according to your preferred options in the previous step)
c) Click Delete to remove the duplicated references
1. Select the reference(s) you wish to remove
2. Click Delete from the top menu
3. You can select either:
a) Remove from folder (only available if the reference is selected in a folder)
--> the reference will be removed from the current folder, but still available under All References
b) Move Selected to Trash
--> the reference will be moved to Trash, which cannot be searched, viewed or used
Note: Go to Trash from the left menu. The removed references could be accessed, restore or delete permanently in this folder.
RefWorks allows sharing folders with other RefWorks users
1. Click Share
2. Choose the folder for sharing
Note: If you are clicking Share on one of your folder's page, that folder will be chosen by default
3. After choosing the folder, more sharing options are shown:
a) Create Public URL to allow anyone who has the link to see the folder
b) To invite specific people to access the folder, enter an email address for sharing
c) The invited people could have the right of Can read, Can annotate, or Can modify to the sharing folder
