OneSearch

 

Overview

OneSearch is a search platform to find all resource types from different sources. It has 2 search modes: 

  • Simple Search (Find known items or resources for a topic roughly)
    Type title, author or keywords, and press 'Enter' on your keyboard


 

  • Advanced Search (Find comprehensive resources for a topic)
    1. Click "Advanced Search"


 2. Enter search query, and then click "Search"



To find more results, you can use:

OR operator to search results for similar terms as well, e.g., teenager OR adolescent

•  Wildcard characters to search results for terms with variations

? represents 1 character, e.g., wom?n for results of woman, women

○ * represents multiple characters, e.g., cultur* for results of culture, cultural, culturally

 

To find more precise results, you can use:

AND operator for results for all terms, e.g., fintech AND china

NOT operator to reduce unwanted results with specific terms, e.g., fintech NOT china

“ ” quotation marks to search exact terms in specific order, e.g., “financial technology”

 

To refine results, you can:

• Use resource type filter

e.g., select ‘Books’ to show books only


• Refine Results
 e.g., select specific resource type, publication year, and then click "Apply Filters"

Finding Journals

You can use either way to find journals:

• Select “Journals” in resource type filter

 

• Select “Journals” under resource type


• Use 'Journal Search"
