ChatGPT for research

Record usage of ChatGPT

Besides the citations, students are advised to elaborate on your usage of ChatGPT to uphold academic integrity. In fact, your teachers may require you to provide such evidence to ensure your proper use and acknowledgement of ChatGPT. Please follow the course/assignment outline, and consult your teachers about their requirements and expectations.

Since there is no official rule or format for recording usage of ChatGPT, the Library advises you to:

  • Submit the records in the form of an appendix.
  • Present the usage in a precise and concise way.
  • Mention the model of ChatGPT you used and the period you obtained data.
  • Record individual usage by:
    • Your chat history with ChatGPT in image format rather than text to avoid falsification or fabrication.
    • A brief description of the contents you used, your follow-up actions (e.g., adaption), and the part of the paper using the contents.
    • Any other information you deem important.
